- Produced in London, UK.
- Honey is the natural sweet substance produced by Apis Mellifera (honey) bees from the nectar of plants or from secretions of living parts of plants or excretions of plant-sucking insects on the living parts of plants which the bees collect, transform by combining with specific substances of their own, deposit, dehydrate, store and leave in honeycombs to ripen and mature.
(as defined by the Honey Regulations (England) 2015
- Ingredients: Honey – Hivesman honey is a single ingredient and single apiary product - our honey is never blended.
- Honey consists of different sugars, predominantly fructose and glucose as well as other substances such as organic acids, enzymes, proteins, vitamins, minerals and pollen particles derived from nectar collection by honey bees.
- Honey has antioxidant and antimicrobial properties.
- Filtration: Cold and course filtered to retain pollen particles and avoid damage to natural properties.
- Unsuitable for children under 12 months of age.
- Storage: Honey is an ambient food – it does not require refrigeration or freezing and can be stored at room temperature in a sealed jar.
- Crystallisation/granulation: Natural honey will crystallise, or granulate, over time. This is a natural process caused by glucose sugars separating from water to form sugar crystals. Honey contains pollen and enzymes (particularly glucose oxidase) that act as “seeds” for crystals to form. Minimal processing keeps Hivesman’s honey’s natural components intact.
Crystallisation is a sign that honey is pure, unprocessed and authentic.
- Allergens: None of the 14 listed allergens in UK food law are present in honey.
